Actually...i think SF should stay.
Having done an UW run and realizing how much of an ass it is for Balanced teams....SF was a vitally important part of the structure as i doubt most of the other tanks can hold the aggro as long as needed like SF can...i know alot of people have a deep hate for SF and will probably have heart failure at seeing my post...but for this new UW i reckon it should stay as a tank perma but make it like feigned neutrality where if u use a spell if cancels out.
apart from the QQ posts anyone else agree on this?

Yes, let's keep a God-Mode iWin button because people can't tank.
OH I FORGOT, tanks suck, thanks.

What a brave statement, especially on Guru.
I disagree with you, really. You shouldn't need to be locked into a specific build or profession in order to complete something. My warrior hero can tank just nicely with a little support, I don't need a perma-sin on my team.
I do pray that the SF nerf comes quickly. I wish to troll in ToA.
Side thought:
UW was completable before SF even existed. Still a challenge, but still completable.

There is no reason to keep the godmode button ingame, good teams can always find ways to clear hard elite areas. And the pug groups will keep failing sounds good to mee.

People just got too used to perma SF, but it is not necessary to do the area, and breaks a lot of the game so I still think it must be nerfed ASAP.
Even quests like 4H can be done without tanking a side (with a proper split), and if the team wants another tanking build can be picked. Servants of Grenth quest doesn't require tanking either, a balanced team can take on the full aggro and survive (use a Paragon). I don't think of any other quest in the UW that would justify tanking that a balanced team cannot do.
They could as well remove the stupid Skeletons of Dhuum, perhaps I was too used to the old UW but they feel SO out of place. Though thinking well, they drop Ectos, so they might as well stay.

That's why the nerf of SF should be accompanied by a slight watering down of the overly difficult areas/quests (4h and Wastes are the first to come to mind). It doesn't mean everything should stay broken.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On topic, i think never having SF in the game would have been super duper but at this stage i dont see what the community gains from an SF nerf.
After SF is gone, there will only be successful Guild balance-way runs
so... if you want to be pr0 1337 you can do balance-way runs now.
Nerfing SF at this point will just make a bunch of people quit, and beat an already dead further.
Still i wish it was never in the game but o well

So basically they're only staying because of one broken skill?
Good riddance then.

I dont think thats what hes implying, I feel that nerfing SF is a good idea but not destroying the skill all together.
You would be very naive into thinking that some players wouldent quit if SF is nerfed, in fact its highly possible that some players would leave the game because some of them just like doing UW or FOW etc with SF and nothing else.
Yes SF is Godmode, yes it doesent require a great deal of skill to use, honestly though the bottom line is that its your choice if you want to use it or not. If you want a balanced group to defeat UW or FOW for example, then by all means find a group of like minded players who prefer the balanced way and nock yourself out.
However I do like the fact of having SF as a choice if I want to use it. The question of players giving up or quiting after the SF nerf is probably going to scare Anet in my opinion. They rely on the common gamer not the hardcore GW players to maintain there profit margins. Its there they make there money on not the core players.
Still, it is a good idea to nerf SF and players find a balanced way to do things but given the choice I would personally prefer to have both options available to me.

Does SF have a place in a nicely designed, balanced game?
That, it does not.
Is GW a nicely designed, balanced game?
That, it is not.

Cool story brah. Seems like you could've shared your opinion in one of the countless SF threads, instead of making a new one.

Shadow Form is a bad concept, and when it gets nerfed, I'm sure people will find a new way to do it, or find something else to group farm.

Does anyone honestly think SF'ers "quitting" is going to impact ArenaNet? They have your money already, they dont care. Anet still knows the sorry saps will welcome GW2 with open arms; so the "qitters" only fail themselvs, not the company. And like the rest, I say good riddance to them.

this is because most teams who do it the balanced way are composed of retards since every "high-end pveer" (albeit retard too) does it the quick, mindless way.
ps.: good riddance!

Man, guru is full of elitist cry babies. Who cares if SF gets nerfed, who cares if SF isn't nerfed. Once it's nerfed, it'll go back to the way it was before; UW is closed off just elite guilds and random sucky PUGs. Unless someone comes up with another UWSC.

To be fair UW teams are based around Overpowered stuff.
Shadow form? overpowered
Save yourself? overpowered, hell they could nerf it to +33 armor and i would still take it
SoS rits? not much like above, but still overpowered given the amount of protection and damage they offer.
Cons? well ....
